To the viewers: most likely some of these posters are not actual members or representatives of Team Lakay.

Mr. Sanguiao, Belingon and the rest of Team Lakay are very soft-spoken, humble and respectful people outside the ring and would not make such comments.

We'll see interviews from all of Team Lakay here at rollapalooza.tv in the coming weeks. Peace!

Send some of your boys here and I'm pretty sure they'll enjoy their stay. We even have the Care Jet that can take you back to the PI in style. Justin is one in an army of fighters we have that can take ALL your belts back to Guam.

All Belingon had was kicks. He had no takedowns and no ground game. Sure he threw lots of kicks but not all of them landed. This fight was Justin's hands down!

I think it's interesting to see how they fight in the ring considering their origins. It's not right to say Kevin totally whooped Justin, neither is it correct to criticize Kevin for his lack of a guard game.

Justin Cruz is from Guam, producer of some of the toughest MMA fighters this side of the world. They are heavily influenced by the modern MMA scene and they are easily updated with high-class grappling because of all the BJJ black belts they have there.

Kevin is from the Mountain Province, and is born from the bloodline of the real indigenous Ilocanos. In Benguet there is no UFC, no BJJ (not that I know of), no high-class guard game, etc... His game is basic: old school striking. Which is why all he does when he gets to the ground is explode up on his feet again.

Let's be honest, it was almost an even match :) and that's a good thing for martial arts, it just shows how ANY style, when improved with hardwork and dedication, will ALWAYS be effective in real combat.

KUDOS TO THESE TWO WARRIORS FOR A GREAT FIGHT!

As for me, I declare it a draw. They should have done a 3rd round :)

Peace and Love!

Mack have you heard of the forum posting style called "San-Jitsu Ryu"? It's origins are just as mysterious as Kevin's "mountain province" fighting style. You're such a friendly guy I thought you may have studied under him.

Kevin's style is wushu san shou , ever heard of Cung Lee, pure striking and wushu takedown

to Mack - it should be indigenous IGOROTS , not ilocanos , - Igorots are the people of the CAR or Cordillera Administrative Region of the northern PI, (Benguet, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Apayao , Ifugao and Abra) and it is where Baguio City is located ( which is in Benguet)

HERE'S ANOTHER OUTCOME OF THE SAME FIGHTING STYLE KEVIN HAVE (SAN SHOU) APPLIED AT URCC 13 BY HIS OWN TEAM CAPTAIN EDWARD FOLAYANG AGAINST JERRY LEGASPI

Yeah I know he's Igorot, which only stresses my point even more (about how COOL Kevin is :P). He's fighting style is purely drawn from indigenous culture, not so much (if at all) influenced with the hyped UFC/MMA scene.

I only said he's Ilocano with reference to his dialect; I noticed he, along with his team mates, speak Ilocano...which is cool because nobody else understands the instructions coming from his corner :) anyway, thanks for the clarification, Sir! :)

I haven't heard of San Jitsu Ryu, but it sounds pretty cool. It's from Guam right? :)

Peace and Love everyone!

I think San Jitsu Ryu's origins are Guam. But it's teaching has transcended traditional martial arts into "dalai lama" like positivism and colorful forum posting (literally). There was one gentleman who was the embodiment of this "good vibes" style but alas has mysteriously vanished..I've heard that he is currently in a Turkish prison for a number of goat and pigeon molestation charges :(

Anonymous, everyone agrees that the sport of MMA still has space to grow. The longest running MMA production in the Phils is only on it's 13th show, and that is no small feat. Imagine when they're on their 90th show..

We should support the ones who want to help the sport grow locally instead of talk down at them. These guys are heroes for stepping into the ring against more experienced fighters from abroad to represent the Philippines

rollapalooza is absolutely right? Anyone who watches UFC 13 right now will surely cringe at their lack of skill and technique in terms of having an over all MMA game...But that was UFC 13.

MMA in the Philippines is still a BABY. We don't have as much BJJ black belts as our Asian neighbors and we haven't really recognized MMA yet as a household name in our culture. I agree, local fighters are actually HEROES because they are not really unaware of the fact that they're gonna be facing more experienced MMA fighters, but they still do.

The best attitude is good vibes! (As one of our anonymous posters said :)) Let's support it! not look down it! Let's make it grow rather than contribute to its degradation. Let's legalize it! Don't criticize it! (what the hell did i just say??) :P

WHAT???

Goat? Pigeon? Molestation??? In Turkey?

Damn, I hope I don't end up where he is now...

I always found Europe boring.

It's all gooooooooooood everyone :)

Peace!
